JCC PRINCETON MERCER BUCKS & ABRAMS CAMPS RESPONDS:

As the world struggles with the challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, the JCC Princeton Mercer Bucks & Abrams Camps never gave up.  On July 13th, we courageously opened camp but at 40% less capacity than last year, in order to comply with mandatory camping guidelines.  We put 70 people back to work and helped 180 children (ages 4-15) adjust to their new normal of social distancing, facial coverings and learn the best hygiene practices to combat COVID-19.  Sadly, we had to turn Jewish campers away to keep kids safe.  Serving our community during this difficult and unprecedented time was critical in strengthening the mental health and well being of our children and parents of our community.

WE NOW ASK FOR OUR COMMUNITY’S HELP:

Being forced to have 100 less campers created a financial hardship for our JCC.  Our families have asked us to create new socially distant programs in the fall while remote learning continues throughout the coming year.  It is essential that we keep providing this stimulating Jewish outlet for our children, who are back to being sheltered away from their friends and local synagogues. We need assistance to help us rebound now for year round programs and for the future for an even bigger 2021 camp season.

WE WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT FOR OUR COMMUNITY:

Our path to “normalcy” is far from over.  Please consider a donation, corporate sponsorship or grant to help us rebuild for our future leaders of tomorrow.

From Strength to Strength,

Wendy Soos

Executive Director
