- 01At JCC Abrams Camps, we focus on positive reinforcement, respect, and creating a safe, welcoming environment for all campers. Our behavior expectations are based on kindness, teamwork, and personal responsibility. If a camper has difficulty following rules, our approach includes: ✅ Redirection & Positive Coaching – Staff work with campers to guide behavior in a positive way. ✅ Communication with Families – If needed, we’ll partner with parents to support a camper’s success.
- 02The health and safety of our campers is our top priority. If a camper isn’t feeling well: 🤒 They will be cared for by our on-site medical staff in our air conditioned Health Center. 📞 Parents/guardians will be contacted if their child needs to go home or requires additional care. 🏠 Campers must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to camp. (vomiting, diarrhea, and/or fever) If your child has medication needs, allergies, or a medical condition, please inform us before camp begins so we can provide the best care possible.
- 03If your camper needs to take medication during the camp day, our Health Center staff is here to help. Please note the following requirements: 🚫 Campers cannot keep medication with them at ANY time. ALL medication must be handed in to the Health Center, by an authorized adult, in person in advance of camp. 💊 Prescription medications (Allergy, Asthma, etc.) must be dropped off at the Health Center on designated days in June before camp begins. 🏥 All medications must be in their original pharmacy container. We cannot accept loose pills or medications in unmarked bottles. 🔐 Medications will be securely stored and locked up in our Health Center. 📄 A Medication Authorization Form must be signed by a parent/guardian and submitted before camp starts. If you have any questions, please contact the Camp Office at (609) 606-7070.
- 04We take allergies and medical needs very seriously and have procedures in place to ensure camper safety. ✅ EpiPens and emergency medications must be dropped off at the Health Center before camp starts. ✅ All staff are trained in recognizing and responding to allergic reactions. ✅ We are a nut-free camp and work closely with families to accommodate dietary restrictions. If your child has a severe allergy, asthma, or another medical condition, please contact us before camp begins to discuss an individualized care plan.
- 05JCC Abrams Camps is a screen-free environment, and we encourage campers to disconnect and enjoy the camp experience! 🚫 Cell phones, tablets, and smartwatches are not permitted at camp. 🚫 Electronic games, AirPods, and other personal tech devices should be left at home. If a camper needs to contact home during the day, they can visit the Camp Office, and we will assist them.
- 06To prevent lost or damaged items: ⚠️ Please do not send valuable or sentimental items to camp. ⚠️ Trading cards, fidget toys, and other collectibles are best kept at home. Camp provides plenty of activities, games, and opportunities for fun, so there’s no need for personal toys!
